Within three years, the Government of the Russian Federation will subsidize the costs of purchasing and installing rapid electro-charging stations (ECS) for electric transport on federal highways. In 2022, 1.37 billion rubles will be allocated for these purposes. The relevant decree was signed by Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, on March 9, 2022.
The funding will allow the construction of over 500 powerful ECSes. First, 12 pilot regions will receive the funds, including the Republics of Crimea and Tatarstan, Oblasts Sakhalin, Leningrad, and Nizhny Novgorod, as well as all territories, through which one of the busiest highways, M-4 "Don", runs.
Over 262 million rubbles will be allocated for Tatarstan to create the charging infrastructure for electrical transport.
According to the Concept for Developing the Production and Use of Electric Motor Transport in Russia, it is necessary to have deployed a network of 29 thousand rapid ECSes within the country by 2030. They should charge the battery to 80% in at most 20-30 minutes.
It should be noted that Tatarstan already has charging stations for electric vehicles and electric buses. One of them was opened at a municipal parking lot in the Mullanur Vakhitov street of Kazan in September.
