Briefing on the results of the development of the gas motor fuel market in 2022 and prospects for 2023

“In 2022, 1,221 vehicles were converted to compressed natural gas, 508 vehicles were purchased in the gas engine version,” said Oleg Korobchenko. At the end of 2022, 72.2 million cubic meters of CNG were sold.”

This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Oleg Korobchenko on March 14 at a briefing "On the results of the development of the gas motor fuel market in 2022 and prospects for 2023". Today in the republic there are: 44 CNG filling stations (Automobile gas-filling compressor stations) with a total capacity of 374 million cubic meters; 4 cryo filling stations; 2 complexes for natural gas liquefaction with a total capacity of 25,000 tons per year.

This infrastructure makes it possible to fully provide fuel for more than 13,000 units of gas-powered vehicles operated in Tatarstan.

At present, the republic occupies a leading position in the Russian Federation in this direction. “We were able to achieve these results thanks to the Republican program for the development of the gas motor fuel market, which has been implemented since 2013,” the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan said.

At the beginning of 2013, 508 units of gas-powered vehicles were operated in the republic, which were administered by the structural divisions of Gazprom transgaz Kazan. As a result of joint work, the number of CNG filling stations has increased by 4.5 times, the sale of CNG - by 16 times, and the number of gas-powered vehicles by almost 26 times.

Over the past few years, Tatarstan manufacturers have developed and presented samples of gas-engine special, agricultural and road equipment running on LNG: front loader "Kirovets" K-702MA-PK6; energy-saturated caterpillar excavator Е330С; all-wheel drive gas bus; main tractor "Kamaz 54901"; tractor MTZ 2022; mobile LNG tanker of high cross-country capacity of 18 cubic meters. meters; dump truck on LNG with a carrying capacity of 20 tons; LNG-powered gas swamp vehicle for work in hard-to-reach places.

The following tasks have been set for 2023: start construction of at least 6 CNG filling stations and 7 cryo filling stations; sell at least 85 million cubic meters of CNG; to purchase at least 500 units of gas-powered vehicles.

“Currently, we are developing a new program for the development of gas motor fuel for the next ten years. At the same time, a similar program is being formed at the federal level,” Oleg Korobchenko said.
